Coloured pencil on botanical drawings each framed 22 x 31cm

Drawn over fifteen botanical illustrations discovered in a second-hand bookshop, these works weave together reflections on my visits and experiences in Cornwall over a six-month period. They recall my residency at Newlyn Art Gallery, camping trips with my friend Charlotte, who grew up there and travels to Hummadruz, a group exhibition created in collaboration with the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic in Boscastle and shown at Newlyn Art Gallery.

This series was later exhibited in a two-person show, Irgendwas mit Space, at Galerie Herold in Bremen, alongside artist Barbara Rosengarth, whom I met and stayed with during my Cornwall residency. Most of the works were acquired by fellow artists in Bremen, meaning fragments of Cornwall and British flora now live on numerous walls there. Additional pieces made upon my return trace the car journeys I took to deliver the work, many of which found homes with collectors across the UK.
