Biography
Anne-Marie Watson’s drawings are handwritten, flowing texts which describe memories and reflections of past events and thoughts on present experiences. They answer urgent, interesting questions or repeat the same word over and over again. Their creation is an absorbing, time consuming process which necessitates commitment and patience.
Akin to one off performances the works are highly charged documents imprinted with the intimacy of this personal, repetitive act. Words are transformed into a newly charged material for producing abstract, intricate images.
Anne-Marie Watson lives and works in St. Leonards-on-Sea.
